Sunderland turn Chelsea over

November 15th, 2010 by Ken

Sunderland went to Chelsea yesterday in hope of not repeating their 7-2 loss last season and the slim chance of gaining a point from the match. Chelsea started brightly but Sunderland looked to take control of the game close to half time. Nedum Onuoha danced through the Chelsea defence to guide home a scruffy shot that made the half time team talk more interesting for both managers. Sunderland came out for the 2nd half in confident mood and soon made it 2-0, Asamoah Gyan sliding the ball past Petr Cech with 52 minutes played. As the game went on it soon became clear that Chelsea weren’t getting back into the game, and to compound their worries Sunderland made it 3-0 when a poor pass from Ashley Cole let in Danny Welbeck to ensure that all 3 points went to Wearside.

Preview: Bursaspor v Man United

November 2nd, 2010 by Ken

United travel to Bursa in Turkey this evening to play Bursaspor in the Champions League. The result at Old Trafford was 1-0 to United thanks to Nani’s early goal. Bursaspor will be much more attacking on their own ground and Ferguson may opt for a 4-5-1 formation to contain the threat from the Turks. The line up for United could look something like this:

Van der Sar

Brown  Smalling  Vidic  Evra

Nani  Fletcher  Carrick  Scholes  Park

Berbatov

Bench: Kuszczak, Rafael, O’Shea, Eikrem, Obertan, Bebe, Hernandez

Our prediction will be 1-0 to Manchester United in what would be a crucial 3 points for them.
