One thing us British people should be proud of is the amount of young British talented footballers we have in current game.
It was only a few years ago there was allot of talk about the big clubs bringing in young foreign players instead of focusing on the home grown British players. Maybe it was at the time the home grown talent was not up to the standard it should of been but i am proud to say that we have a good number of players out their who could have big careers ahead of them a couple of these include :
Danny Welbeck: Exploded on to the scenes at Manchester United with his superb strike against Stoke certainly one with a big future ahead at only 18 years old
Danny Simpson: Currently on load at Blackburn from Manchester United the promising defender could well be a long term replacement for Wes Brown. At 22 his career really starts now and should be trying to break into first team
Giles Barnes : I think this player has allot of ability and at only 20 years old the current Derby man could be a big prospect for the future with him already attracting attention from premiership sides such as Fulham.

For most Manchester United Football fans the biggest thing on our mids is whether or not we will sign Carlos Tevez in the summer, yet reports are claiming their could be a replacement in reach if he leaves.
United have first option to sign Tevez on a permanent basis in the summer, when the striker will have completed his two-year loan deal at the home of the European champions.
However, it looks increasingly likely that Sir Alex Ferguson will decide against the former West Ham United star, who has often lost his place in the side.
It is widely believed that the next destination for the 24-year-old could be Inter Milan, where Jose Mourinho is said to have made the player one of his top targets for the summer transfer window.
And in a twist to the potential deal, United could raid the San Siro for their replacement, with Italian Under-21 international Mario Balotelli a reported target for Ferguson at around £12million.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri for much of the season, and whilst he could not be guaranteed a regular place at Old Trafford, a move to the Premier League could appeal.

After loads of speculation this could be the end for Shay Given. The two clubs chasing him are Arsenal and Manchester City.
Given has done 11 years now at Newcastle and I think that is a long enough stay at any club and a new club and challenge may be just what he need.
Newcastle play Manchester City today and he has not travelled with the Newcastle United squad to Manchester.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is expected to be at the game tonight. Manchester City have offered £5m for the 32-year-old goalkeeper but Newcastle want more, though manager Joe Kinnear said yesterday for the first time that he forsees Given’s departure.

In recent reports they are claiming that a German consortium could be interested in putting a bid in for Chelsea. The head of the consortium is believed to be the Arab tycoon who helped broker Abu Dhabi United Group’s takeover of Manchester City.
My question is why Chelsea out of the thousand of clubs out their. This could be due to claims that the Blues’ Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich could be struggling after being hit hard by the global slowdown.
I think that if Abramovic invested more wisely for example buying Shefshenko and Ballack that the previous manager did not want plus the numerous amounts of loans he has given out over the years the thought of selling Chelsea football club would not have even entered his mind.
Chief executive Peter Kenyon has told a fans’ forum that the oil magnate had no intention of selling up,
But the group of German investors believes everything has its price and may be ready to launch a takeover bid.
This could be a huge topic in the sport at the moment as many clubs seem to be selling or being brought out by big consortiums and the Mega rich for some clubs this is better than taking out a big loan going in to debt or running the risk of going into administration.

The British No.1 Andy Murray took on Spanish Fernando Verdasco for a place in the Quarter finals of the Australian open after a grueling five-set encounter Murray was defeated ending his chances of winning his first Grand Slam.
The fourth seed stormed through the first set as he looked to build on his impressive form from the early rounds making most believe that this would be a quick match for the Brit.
How ever Verdasco came out all guns blazing for the second set and the Spaniard never looked back after breaking Murray in the second game.
Murray never gave up desperately trying to find his way back knowing that he had beaten Verdasco in their five previous meetings, was unable to build on that success and crashed out of the tournament.

Hatton may now look for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather or Oscar De lay hoya

It is believed that Manchester City have landed two players out of the 100s they have been keeping tabs on.
One of them being Welsh striker Craig Bellamy striker who was given permission to speak to the City boss Mark Hughes after the Blues’ bid, thought to be £14million, was accepted.
Rumours have it that Craig asked for a transfer to Spurs on Friday but his club were unwilling to sell to their rivals and so accepted the offer from City.
Their other signing is to be Nigel de Jong which is supposed to be complete his transfer with in the next 48 hours with an estimated City £18m price tag for the Dutch international defensive midfield player.
The 24-year-old de Jong’s presence would certainly beef up city’s manpower as we seen his abilities in last years Euro 2008 playing for Holland.

The Australian Open gets under way this Monday with everyone trying to add this grand slam to their collection.
British No.1 Andy Murray will face Andrei Pavel in the opening round of the Australian Open.
And after falling short at the first hurdle in Melbourne last year when he lost to eventual finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Murray may be feeling the heat how ever he is currently unbeaten in 2009 and is looking to become the first British man to win a grand slam singles title since Fred Perry 1936.
Things are not going to be easy for the British No.1 as he has been drawn in the same half of the draw as top seed Rafael Nadal.
Although beating the world number one once already this season as well as toppling Roger Federer twice falling at the first hurdle last year will be on the back of his mind.

I was just thinking to my self the other day about football and started to think what had happened to the players i grew up admiring or where fantastic footballers. i am a big football supporter and like to see footballers continuing with some sort of role in football even when they retire.
To me being a footballer is like our educational system they start off going through the ranks such as youth team and reserve like “collage” then they make the first team and do couple seasons “University” period then after that comes the big wide world and is where most players will take up some sort of coaching role or managerial position but not all players do this some after their playing days just fall of the end of the world or move abroad to play and never be heard of again examples of this include:
Dennis Berkamp - Retired not long ago where is he now should be manager of Holland
Zidine Zidan - Rumors are saying he want to take a role as a foot balling director
Rivaldo - Don’t really hear about him no more but apparently he’s still going in Uzbekistan
Ronaldo - Has been a bit of talk about him returning after his chronic knee injury but yet to be seen
