Man’s Utd Rising Stars

July 29th, 2008 by Ken

One’s for the future

Although people often look for the big buys in the summer there is a vast selection of us who look for the youngsters who are pushing through to the seniors and making appearances because lets face it we all know that Sir Alex wont let just any player make an appearance they will have to be special or performing to a high standard.

Last year seen the appearance of Young Star Danny Welbeck and I’m not just saying that because I know him we have all seen it for our self going on the tour to Saudi out to Moscow for the Champions League Final and being called for the first team on many occasions. This is defiantly one for the future and is highly rated through out the camp.

United’s other youngsters like Campbell, Lee Martin, Danny Simpson, Chris Eagles, Darron Gibson, Sam Hewson, and Ben Amos are all considered stars of the future.

Sir Alex has quoted that his youngsters are amongthe best youngsters he has ever seen. “They’re all really good players,” he said. “They’ve got good potential and some of them will go on loan, some have come back from their loan periods and will now have to push on and show that improvement that’s going to get them into the first team squad.”

What Olympic Games will Great Britain will not be competing in?

July 28th, 2008 by Ken

Yes im afraid to say this but Great Britain will not be competing in all The 2008 Olympics games with a return of 28 sports, and 302 events in which 165 of the men’s events, 127 women’s events, and 10 mixed events

The Great Britain team failed to qualify for some events or in some cases do not have teams set up in which could compete at this level, the sports include:

Baseball - The GB men’s team cane second place at the European Championships which won them entry into the Olympic qualifying tournament in Taiwan in March. But due to a lack of funding this forced the team to withdraw and ended their hopes of playing in Beijing.

Basketball - There will be no British representation in Beijing, but plans to enter men’s and women’s teams for the London Games in 2012 are progressing well.

Football - England’s women hoped to compete as part of Team GB in Beijing, but FiFa blocked this plan. There has also been opposition to proposals from the British Olympic Association to enter men’s and women’s teams at the London Olympics in 2012.

Handball
- There will be no British handball team in Beijing, but plans are under way to put together a team good enough to compete at the next games.

Softball - Britain will not have a softball team in the games. Reports are in that this could be the last appearance at the Olympics before being dropped from the schedule.

Table tennis
- Young star Paul Drinkhall failed to reach the Olympics at the final world qualifying tournament in May, so GB will not be presented at the Beijing table tennis event.

Volleyball - There will be no British representation in the indoor volleyball tournaments. As the teams prepare for the 2012 London Games.

Wrestling - There was no British freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestlers that qualified for Beijing.

Apart from them few games being held at the Olympics this summer look out for our Great Britain teams in the other events and lets hope that they bring some gold medals home!!

Introduction of Exercise & Activities in the Office

July 25th, 2008 by Ken

Office Exercise & Activities

Exercise in the office…interesting concept right? Well the majority of people in Britain these days work in inactive office jobs that involve little or no physical activity. I feel this should be a major issue for companies and organisations as it can have an effect on their clients and should think of strategies to improve this. In many offices employees become fatigued with the lack of activity surrounding them.

Even the small things such as a pool table or darts board in the canteen could relax your employees help them focus that little bit extra. I would say it’s better to lose 15 minutes playing and getting back to work with a refreshed mind than to lose a whole day because you can’t focus.

And so would conclude to the managers of companies and organisations to invest a little which could go along way and see employees relaxed and focused at work.
However there are exercises you can do while sitting down - after all, our bodies are always using up calories, and the key to weight loss is maximising that calorie burn in any situation and so i will give you a few exercises to start with starting from your arms and wrists.

Stretches for Your Wrists and Arms

Wrist Stretch: Extend arm in front, palm up and grab fingers with other hand. Gently pull hand down to stretch the forearm. Repeat other side.

Wrist & Forearm: Press hands together in front of chest, elbows bent and parallel to the floor. Gently bend wrists to the right and left.

Back Twist: Sit upright in chair and place left arm behind left hip. Twist to the left and hold, repeating on other side.

Liverpool add to their Summer Signings.

July 24th, 2008 by Ken

Liverpool Sign 19 year old striker.

Liverpool have finalised the signature of the highly-rated teenage striker David Ngog from Paris St Germain in a four-year contract with the Barclays Premier League club.

This new striker should add the depth back in to the squad after seeing the departure of Peter Crouch for Portsmouth. It is thought he will go straight into the Reds’ first-team squad and join fellow summer arrivals Andrea Dossena, Diego Cavalieri and Philipp Degen.

Ngog, who is the cousin of former Rangers and Newcastle defender Jean-Alain Boumsong, has had a difficult previous season with his former Paris St Germain team under achieving and barely maintaining their Ligue 1 status.

The pacey forward onlt managed to score just the once in 18 appearances but has been far more effective for his national team of France, scoring at every youth level for his country, including a brace against England Under-19s last season.

The departure from the Parc des Princes seemed inevitable from the moment he refused to sign a new contract with Paul le Guen’s side. With his contract coming into the final year Liverpool stepped in with a bid thought to be around £1.5million.

Gunner’s Face New Blow!!

July 23rd, 2008 by Ken

Gunner’s Face New Blow as Toure is diagnosed with Malaria.

With many of their stars players demanding pay rises and others leaving, Arsenal have not had the best start to the summer and things just seem to be declining for the Gunner’s with the news that Kolo Toure has been diagnosed with malaria.

It’s believed that the defender contracted the disease while on holiday in his native home country of the Ivory Coast. Toure flew out for Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Austria and Hungary, where he was sent to hospital in Vienna and diagnosed with malaria.

An Arsenal spokesperson has stated Toure as “being in good spirits”, but it is very unlikely he will be fit for the start of the new season fast approaching, which will leave Arsenal venerable at the back with defenders such as Johan Djourou or Philippe Senderos potential partners for William Gallas.

Rise or Fall for Danny.

July 17th, 2008 by Ken

Danny’s last chance for the British heavyweight title!

Their has been some great British title fights over recent years and I think we could be in for another classic.

This friday Danny Williams who believes he is the best heavyweight in the country will take on new kid on the block John McDermott who feels highly motivated for the fight in Dagenham.

But let’s face it, if Danny performs as we all know he can and fights a professional fight he should win this.

But if he makes the mistake of underestimating McDermott and tries to out box him he could find himself losing on points or by KO.

Danny should be feeling this is his last-chance of proving all his critics wrong and be up for this fight as he feels he is the best in Britain.

The Essex man challenging the one-time Mike Tyson conqueror for his British heavyweight belt on Friday Fight Night is the English champion, and says “he is ready to rip up the form book and spring a major surprise”.

I say enough with the talking and let the fists do that instead. Tune in this Friday nite at 10pm to see the two heavyweights battle it out!!

Is Ron Finally off to Italy?

July 16th, 2008 by Ken

AC Milan have confirmed they will be completing the signing of Ronaldinho on Wednesday.

The Italian giants have announced that they have finalized a fee with Barcelona and terms with the Brazilian born playmaker.

After rejecting the chance of a move to Manchester City, Ronaldinho will agree a three-year deal with Milan, keeping him at the San Siro until 2011.

Milan who have released comments on their official website which reads: “AC Milan and Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Ronaldinho”.

“The playmaker will fly out to Milan this Wednesday to undergo a medical and sign a contract that will keep him at Milan until June 2011.”

The final fee for the Brazilian born playmaker is meant to be in the region of €18.5million (£14.6million) giving the player an earning estimated around €6.5million (£5.1million) per season.

Not bad for a player who has been quoted, “past his best” but I’m sure he will make allot of heads turn in Milan with his trickery and the direct play to feet may suit his game well.
