Everton secured a point against Manchester United on Saturday scoring two goals in stoppage time to earn a 3-3 draw. Everton went 1-0 up in the first half through Steven Pienaar but United levelled within five minutes with Darren Fletcher volleying in from close range. United then went 3-1 up after the restart through Nemanja Vidic and Dimitar Berbatov and looked to be securing a needed victory, but Tim Cahill pulled one back in the first of three added minutes leaving United on edge. Everton then went on the attack again with 30 seconds remaining, Leighton Baines crossing into Cahill who nodded down for Mikel Arteta to volley home with the of a Paul Scholes deflection.

Wales boss John Toshack is expected to hand his resignation into the Welsh FA on Thursday following Wales’s 1-0 defeat to Montenegro on Friday. There have been problems in the welsh camp for quite some time and this undoubtedly affected the teams performance throughout world cup qualifying and the problems don’t seem to have dissolved. Reports have suggested that Ryan Giggs could replace John Toshack on a part time basis but realistically Giggs will continue to focus on his playing career at Manchester United. John Hartson is another contender as is Chris Coleman, Welsh under 21 coach Brian Flynn, and possibly Ian Rush.

England have got off to a great start in their attempts to qualify for Euro 2012. On Friday they secured a simple win over Bulgaria and then followed that up with victory over Switzerland. England cruised to a 4-0 victory against Bulgaria at Wembley with Jermain Defoe scoring a hat-trick and Adam Johnson scoring his first goal for England. The game against Switzerland in Basel was expected to be a much tougher test, but England easily won by 3 goals to 1, with Wayne Rooney scoring his first international goal in quite some time, Adam Johnson scored his second goal in as many matches, and Darren Bent rounded the scoring off with his first goal for England.

It is said that it is every boxers dream to fight at Madison Square Garden with the likes of Ali, Frazier, Holmes, Holyfield, Lewis, Duran, Ray Leonard, Jones Jr. and Mosley who have all fought in the world’s most famous ring.
This time round it was British born Kahn who was defending his WBA light-welterweight belt against American Paulie Malignaggi and Kahn never looked like he was going to loose .
Amir Kahn showed great maturity picking out the punches and using the Jab to great effect. The fight was stopped by the Ref in 11th round after Paulie looked like he was about to be KO’d by Kahn.

Saturday 3rd April, saw David Haye defeat opponent John Ruiz in a sell out crowd of 20,000 in Manchester.
Many had stated that Haye was not looking his best in the build up to the fight and that he had put more weight on but for we know this could of been tactics as when he came to the weighing he looked just as good.
The fight was a great spectacle in which was largely dominated with Haye flooring Ruiz many of us thought this was going to be a quick fight but Ruiz showed good resilience and was focused on the task ahead.
In the end Haye proved too quick and powerful for his opponent in which his team ended up throwing in the towl.

Although there was only a slender chance of Michael Owen making the world cup this summer im sure with that thought in his mind he made sure every time he got a chance to play he took his chances.
However during the Carling Cup Final against Aston Villa Owen pulled up while running and straight away new it was his hamstring this was a shame as he was having a great game with one goal on the score sheet. He was replaced by Wayne Rooney who went on to Score the winner.
Owen had a scan on his injury which shows the hamstring problem sustained will keep him out of action for the remainder of the season ending any chances of a world cup spot.

Yesterday seen Manchester United Claim their first piece of Silverware of the Season successfully retaining the Carling Cup.
The game between Aston Villa and United was intense right from the start and with Villa taking the early lead through Milner’s penalty new we was going to be in for a great game, the lead was not held for long with Own getting on the score sheet levelling things up.
The winner was scored by none other Wayne Rooney who’s top form continues and helped United to retain the trophy.
One piece of Silverware down they are still in the race for the Premiership title and remain in a good position in the Champions League.

When I say Sports Day what do you think of? Because I don’t mean just any sports day where a particular sport is going to be carried out I mean the sports day many of us grew up loving when we where at Primary School.
The reason for this is that it nearly that time of year for many kids to compete in their schools sports day event for many people who do not know what this, this use to in involve each year competing through a number of events such as:
bean bag racing,
egg and spoon race,
skipping
running
the list could go on where prizes and trophies where awarded to the winners.
I no for many schools they still stick to this tradition and every year hold these events where their parents and family could come down and watch them participate in the events ahead.
This is a great way to keep the kids active and make them enjoy and take part in the sports as well as view the talent that some of the kids have.
For me I think that all Primary Schools who do not already have such events as Sports day held once a year should think about setting these up as a great way to get the children experiencing competition and a range of sports.

I think for many people the biggest shock was the Chelsea Vs Liverpool result prior to the game many believed that on Liverpool’s day they could beat ant one in the champions league which all comes down to their tie in the past against AC Milan
This Semi final has to be one of the best quarter finals ever played in this competition with their being end to end action through out and plenty of goals to see. Unfortunately there could only be one winner and Chelsea finished off the tie leading to a:
Chelsea Vs Barcelona
Manchester Vs FC Porto many people wrote of the reds in this game for not capitalizing in their home leg which was a good point to make and the stats showing that Porto had never lost to and English club at home made the job seem that little bit harder.
Luckily for the reds C.Ronaldo stepped up to the plate with a magnificent strike from about 40 yards out and a speed of 64mph no keeper was ever going to stop it. From then on Man United just seemed to hold there own and see off Porto enough for them to progress to the next round against:
Manchester United Vs Arsenal
