Will Manchester City win the FA Cup

May 13th, 2011 by Ken

For anyone over 40, it’s astonishing that Manchester City have managed to go so long without winning any notable trophies.

In the Sixties and Seventies, they won league titles, FA Cups and European competitions and dominated their rivals from the other side of Manchester.

Since then, things have been rather different with only an FA Cup final appearance in 1981 to sustain supporters.

However, on Saturday, they have another chance – and it’s a good chance too. In the FA Cup final once more, they face Stoke and are certainly the favourites.

Will they succumb to pressure or end the years of underachievement? Come 5pm on Saturday, we’ll know the answer.

Manchester United Vs. Manchester City – Derby Day Is Here Again…

February 11th, 2011 by Ken

It’s that time of year again when arguably the most anticipated derby match in the Premiership is almost upon us. Manchester United take on shit Manchester City at Old Trafford hoping to maintain their reputation as the super power in the city, despite a recent resurgence from their sky blue counterparts over the past year their still shit with their unlimited spending in the transfer windows. United had it pretty much all their own way last season, bar one defeat in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi final at Eastlands, but it was United who won both league games, and went on to beat Aston Villa in the League Cup final at Wembley.

Smalling Set to Start

The big team news this time is that Chris Smalling is set to deputise with his first start in a Manchester derby, having shown good progression in his first season for the reds since his summer move from Fulham. Although short of big game experience most United fans would agree that he probably deserves to wear the shirt over Jonny Evans in the absence of stalwart defender Rio Ferdinand who is said to be sidelined for another couple of weeks. Mancini’s City are expected to park the bus at the Stretford End tomorrow very much like they did in the dire 0-0 draw at Eastlands earlier this season when it was obvious to all, including City fans that their Italian manager had settled for a draw before the game.

Too Close To Call

With Manchester United the greats!! at home, and free scoring, bar their under par performance at Wolves last weekend, City scum are bound to have their work cut out , but with the squad available at City these days, few would bet on an easy game for the Reds, and few could bet on the result either, if last year’s classics are anything to go off.

United won 5-2 last night against MLS All Stars!

July 29th, 2010 by Ken

United won 5-2 last night against MLS All Stars! However it was a friendly match so although something to feel good about, not too good.

IT was dark and indoors unlike your normal UK match, it was played in the US where Football comes behind Soccer. The match was played in an impressive Reliant Stadium. United hit back from a disastrous defeat previously in  Kansas City but this time they were better prepared and hit back like never before – the first goil coming after just 24 seconds!!!!

But it’s still disappointing that the MLS All Stars scored 2 goals against UNITED!

The next Man-Utd game is in 5 weeks

July 12th, 2010 by Ken

The next Man-Utd game is in 5 weeks tonight at Old Trafford against the awesome Newscastle (OK, not so awesome but cool). Did you know that Eric Cantona is going to be back on the field.. OK not really but lots of people are excited and can’t wait for the big game.

When was the last time they actually played each other, it’s been a very long time and will surely bring back useless memories.

Is Manchester United really the the best football team out there? That’s saying a lot but then again they are really good but how good are they?

World Cup is Finally Over!!

July 12th, 2010 by Ken

After all that time of pain of boring World Cup. As you may have expected, there are some people out there who just can’t stand the World cup and football in general and find it to be the most boring of sports within the four corners of the Earth (the whole world in other words).

What do you expect. To be honest, if you really think about it, by watching a whole game of football do you achieve anything? No benefit whatsoever as some people would say and rightly so! Now playing a game of football is another story for another

Jose Mourinho best in the World

May 24th, 2010 by Ken

It has to be said that Jose Mourinho has pretty good record that many managers can only dream of achieving have won domestic titles in the English, Portuguese and now Italian league we can only think he is off to Real Madrid to try and get the Spanish league under his belt also.

After his current Inter Milan team won the Champions League final against Bayern Munich in a comfortable 2-0 win he becomes only the third manager to win the European Cup with two different clubs.

It now seems certain that he will leave Inter this summer and start a new chapter at Real Madrid.

Chelsea are English Champions

May 10th, 2010 by Ken

As many of you would have seen yesterday Chelsea lifted the trophy after missing out three years in a row to Manchester United.

The race for the top was very close with only one point between the top two teams and one game remaining. Chelsea had it all to lose with Manchester United Knowing only a win would keep them in contention if Chelsea where to fall short.

The games finished with both teams wining however United where unable to prevent Chelsea lifting the trophy after a 8 – 0 thrashing over Wigan many say they deserved it i say bring on next season!

April 23rd, 2010 by Ken

In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation stating that Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be stepping down and making way for a new manager.

Manchester Derby Preview

April 16th, 2010 by Ken

The Manchester Derby is here again and i have to say for the first time in my life i am kind of worried about the result as a Manchester United fan. It is true to say that Manchester City have been in fine form of recent weeks with their coach putting them through their paces with double training sessions ahead of the big game.

This game has importance for both teams as united are trying to close the gap on Chelsea with on a win being enough to stand any chance and City chasing the final fourth spot to guarantee European football.

Either way the game is going to be very close however i think City have the fire power over us and could roll United over if not on top form.

Race for the fourth spot

April 14th, 2010 by Ken

With the end of the season drawing ever so close the race for top four spots it heating up but the interest does not lie with the top three team as we are all aware that these are going to consist of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Everyone is now interested who is going to take that final fourth spot and get European football next season. Currently sat there is Manchester City who are in good form at the moment and have to be the bookies favourites however the interest comes with position fourth to seventh only being two points between each team and so with a good run in the up and coming games could see any of these teams take the fourth spot.
